The City of Merrill, is located in Northwest Iowa at the heart of Plymouth County, population 717.
Merrill was officially recognized on February 27, 1872 and became an incorporated city on April 24, 1894.
Merrill was named after Samuel Merrill, the seventh Governor of Iowa.
